Soldiers Reunion of Co I and F Ind 12th at John Lingle home
The twelfth annual reunion of Co I and F 12th Ind. Infantry met at John Lingle’s country home near Huntington. Officers were elected H H Bennett president Chas Kohsier vice president F M Jaques secretary Ira Kiplinger corresponding secretary A C Mc Carter chaplain. A memorial to General Williams was read and three Co C men were named honorary members. Evening program featured recitations songs and the Single Quartet with many veterans sharing war memories. Ice cream and cake followed and attendees praised Lingle and his family.

Jacob Fredrick Hill born March 10 1835 in Seneca County Ohio died near Hastings Nebraska September 22 1899 after long illness. He married Mary P Shipley at age 22 moved to Kosciusko Indiana then to Hastings. His second wife Maggie E Carpenter survives with an adopted son Logan. He was a United Brethren member 17 years a state senator in Adams County and supported the governor election verdict. Elder B M McCue conducted his Mt Pleasant church funeral.
