Mrs Bashore died at her home in the east part of Silver Town after an extended illness. Funeral was held Sunday, with interment in the cemetery near Servia. Services were in charge of Rev. Young. The husband four children and other relatives survive.
Mrs Samuel Bashore died at her home in the east part of town last Friday night after years of illness. She was over 61, survived by her husband, and had lived in the area for years, moving from a farm southeast of town. The Bashore family was well known locally. Continued to No. 2. on Last Page.
Miss Harriett Wiltrout returned to Warren Monday after a two week visit with friends. She was a guest at the Memorial Home in Warren and during her stay also visited Mentone and Bourbon.
C B Deaton traveled to Columbus Indiana Tuesday to represent the Silver Lake Association at a meeting of Horse Thief Detective Association officials. He attended as a Silver Lake representative.
H C Brown, a delegate from the local K P Lodge, attended the Grand Lodge gathering in Indianapolis this week accompanying the lodge from the Capitol city.
Misa Mildred Gay, 13, was snatched from school grounds near Olanette northwest of Warsaw by a man about 50 who stepped from a car and drove away. A punctured tire forced a stop and the girl escaped to a nearby farm house and was returned home.
Rev Neal of Warsaw has been suffering from sleeping sickness for several weeks and, at the latest report, his condition remained unchanged.
Mrs H A Martindale stepped on a nail in the yard while tending house duties. Her foot remained very sore for several days but she is now able to be about.
Thousands from the locality filled Roan Tuesday for a Ku Klux Klan parade and demonstration. After the event a large class of candidates was initiated into the organization.
A large turnout attended the Wayne Faurote sale northeast of town on Tuesday. Mr Faurote and his family plan to move to Columbia City soon, leaving the farm due to health reasons.
Mr. and Mrs. Sholty and their granddaughter were in a collision at a crossroad three miles west and two south of Disko. A large eastbound machine struck their car, injuring Mr. Sholty with two broken ribs and scalp laceration for Mrs. Sholty, while the granddaughter escaped unharmed. The Sholties continued to Disko and returned home.
Raymond McKrill returned home from Rochester Hospital after surgery two weeks ago. He tolerated the trip well and should be able to be about town in a few days.

Mr and Mrs Joshua Leffel hosted a co operative dinner at the James Leffel home in Warsaw on Sunday. Guests came from North Manchester Wabash and Warsaw to attend the gathering.
Five year old Paul Zile son of Mr and Mrs Earl Zile was playing with other children when a tire jerk caused him to fall. He broke his right collar bone. a physician set the fracture and he is progressing well.
Relatives gathered at the north part of town Sunday to honor Mrs Electa Snyder with a surprise party. The event, held at her residence, provided a pleasant afternoon for all attendees.
Dr and Mrs Roy Keplinger of Chicago spent several days visiting relatives in the area and at North Manchester and Warsaw. They joined Howard Hemmer in Warsaw and were entertained by Eli Keplinger Roscoe Keplinger and family near here and Mahlon Skinner of Des Plaines Illinois.
Orville Fletcher of Plymouth, 21, died last Friday night from injuries after a large track he operated overturned burying him. A fractured rib punctured a lung and caused the fatal injuries.
John Zimmerman formerly of Warsaw has returned from Michigan and taken a position at Claypool as agent for the Chevrolet car. Walter Homman of this place is associated in the same note.
Dr. Vivian Yates of Ripley Tennessee underwent an appendicitis operation in Dyersburg on Wednesday of last week. The appendix was ruptured in two places with gangrene beginning. surgeons acted just in time. Yates is well known locally and has visited here several times.
Mr. Schlitzmyer of Three Oaks Michigan visited last Sunday and spent time with Bennie Drudge who ran the Pickel Salting Station this summer. The station is owned by the Fame Canning Company and the visitor expressed satisfaction with the season's business.
A Wednesday evening crash two and half miles south of town wrecked a large Studebaker. Mrs Young suffered a cut head a dislocated wrist and severe finger cuts from broken glass. Harold Tombaugh and another Gilead woman were dazed. the trio was returning from Warsaw when the car left the road. They were taken to surgeons and later sent home to Gilead.
Kay Kline son of Mr and Mrs Dode Kline from the southwest of town was taken sick at William Snake place north of town early last week. He is reported getting along very nicely and suffering from tetanus in the illness.
In Warsaw circuit court on Wednesday Stephen Hill received a $100 fine and a 30 day sentence at the penal farm after being charged with selling liquor.
About forty Skinner family members gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Evans in Warsaw to honor Mahlon Skinner of Des Plaines Illinois who had been away for years. The event followed Mahlon and his wife arriving from North Manchester and visiting a daughter Mrs. Inrank Evans, with many relatives and friends from Peru Chicago Claypool North Manchester Ward and Warsaw attending.
8 B and Wade Whittenberger announce a public sale east of Claypool next Thursday at 11 oclock. Jersey cattle form the main lot with some Spotted Poland China hogs and sheep also offered. Bills printed by the RECORD job department provide further details.

Miss Clara Keller of St. Petersburg Florida visited here several days in the past week with many relatives and friends. She had spent most of the summer in Alexandria with her father remodeling houses they own. She visited Warsaw a couple of days before arriving here.
Eldred Cline entered dental college in Indianapolis on Monday morning and began his studies on Wednesday morning. He travels to the city to pursue professional training and will reside there for the duration of the course.
Curt Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fisher, left town last week for Chicago where he will enter college and pursue training at Chicago University.
Miss Mary Evers aged 67 was found dead in her apartment above the State Bank in Warsaw on Sunday morning. Neighbors entered after receiving no response and found her seated in a chair, having apparently died late Saturday afternoon after feeling unwell for several days.
The teachers from Jackson Monroe Clay and Lake township schools will hold an education institute in the Sidney school building on Saturday October 6.
