Samuel Cauffman suffered a severe injury when his left hand was caught in a corn shredder two and a half miles northeast of here. A damaged lever tied back with wire and a retreating pawing of an ear of corn caused him to fall onto the machine, removing fingers and most of the thumb. Odd Fellows Attend Claypool Banquet With Large Turnout
About twenty five members of I O O F lodge No 576 from this place traveled to Claypool Tuesday night on invitation of local lodges. Three hundred attended from Warsaw South Whitley Pierceton Mentone Tippecanoe and Silver Lake. Work was performed in the three degrees by Warsaw and South Whitley teams in a magnificent manner. Guests were hosted royally with supper on arrival and a midnight banquet. The event drew high praise from locals.

Buggy Upset on Jefferson Street Injures Horse
Cherley and Leonard Dickey drove north on Jefferson near the Hively Hotel when the colt frightened the animal turned short and upset the buggy. The horse fell with its head doubled back and could not rise. Witnesses helped free the horse and set it on its feet. The boys were unhurt though some bows from the buggy top were damaged.
