The Silver Lake election concluded with a single Democratic ticket after the GOP caucus, leaving three Democratic ballots blank. Officials briefly debated legality before proceeding. Election board members included inspector A. Wi Crister and judge Edith Ferrerda.
Mrs. J. M. Amias suffers a sprained left wrist after tripping on a rug and falling. She remains in treatment with bandaged splints as she receives care for the injury.
Mr. and Mrs. BE Curtis of All-Train Michigan spent Thursday and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. C I Bashore. They are motoring from Michigan to Florida to spend the winter.
The I. M. Tucker family that had resided in the Hollenbeck property in the northern part of town for several months has moved to Elkhart.
Rev. Gaddy closes evangelistic services at Donaldson and will start a new series in Bourbon aiding Rev. M. Hill in his work. The plan is to continue religious outreach and revival activities in the community this season.
Roy Higgins and his wife and family visited their Alexandria area home last Saturday calling on friends. The family, staying with Mr and Mrs Smith Higgins, visited Akron to see Roy’s parents before returning. Roy has worked at Remy factory in Anderson most days since leaving the west farm and contemplates buying property in Anderson.
Information from Laketon reports Rev. O. B. Wells holding revival meetings in the U B church. Attendance has shown great interest with large crowds at each service and continued participation noted by organizers.
The Marshall manufacturing Company moved last week from Mentone to a new facility after using a building there. Previously located in Akron for about a year, the firm produced ladders and conducted a sizable business.
Injured in Shredder Lloyd Atchinson son of Isaac Atchinson of Plereston was hurt Friday evening when his left hand was caught in silo filling machinery. Three bones in his palm were fractured.
At two Kosciusko County Dental Society meetings in War saw members dine at Hayes Hotel then gather in Dr Luse’s office for the business session and officer elections. Dr H C Snyder of Milford was chosen president for the coming year with Dr R Leonard of Pierceton as vice president and Dr W Gasoway of Warsaw as secretary and treasurer. The group voted to renew charity work under the County Red Cross nurse and local public school teachers as they deem appropriate.
Two Warsaw youths aged 14 and 16 were charged with public intoxication and appeared in juvenile court before Judge Royse last Saturday. They said they found hard cider and drank some of it and were lectured, promising to be more careful in the future.
On a business trip to Pittsburgh and several eastern cities, East L. D. Underhill returned home Tuesday morning. In Pittsburgh he visited his brother in law Earl Smith and family, who are doing well, though Earl would like to visit Silver Lake briefly.
Mrs. M J Holdeman Mrs. Fred Mc Kown and Mrs. HE A Franks attended a North Manchester Eastern Star Lodge meeting Monday evening as delegates and guests from area chapters.
On Wednesday evening of last week the household effects of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wade were moved here from Warsaw and stored in the Leck rone building.

Rev H M Riggle opened a series of revival meetings in Akron last Sunday. He has thirty one years in evangelistic work with journeys across the United States Canada and Europe and the Middle East. This is the first Akron meeting since their return from Syria. The services will weave experiences from foreign lands into sermons attracting large crowds.
Mrs Judson Harsh aged 75 died at her daughter Mrs Mack Lamberts home in North Manchester where she had been visiting for weeks. She had been ill about four years. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Church of God in Disko. Survived by husband two daughters Mrs Olinger of Michigan and Mrs Lambert of North Manchester and son Esta Harsh with granddaughter Mrs Elmer Christner of this place.
Last Sunday Mr and Mrs A J Kreamer and Mr and Mrs Easterday observed their thirty fifth wedding anniversary at Fulton. They hosted about thirty five relatives and friends for a three course dinner with guests including Mr George King Disko Roy Kreamer and family Wilma Ralph Kreamer and daughters Mary Magdalene Marjorie Louise Ray Hively and Russell Kreamer. The event was enjoyed by all.
Shop T. J. Alspaugh turned the meat market over to John Ayers on Monday morning as noted in the previous issue. Mr. Alspaugh had been attending to work at his place during the week.
Mrs. Louis Grace of near Tippecanoe died Sunday after severe burns from a stove accident weeks earlier while stricken with paralysis and pneumonia followed.
Sophomore class members were entertained Friday evening at the home of Miss Eva Rager and her parents Mr and Mrs Walter Rager located southwest of town. The event provided a social gathering for the students at a private residence.
Last Saturday marked the final day to pay the full tax installment at the bank. Those who did not pay face a delinquency penalty and additional charges.

Aged 73 year old Andrew J. Smith and 86 year old Ellen Webster of the Mentone area were married in Warsaw by Rev. J. S. Cain last Thursday. The couple will live near Mentone on the wife’s farm. This marks the wife’s fourth marriage and the husband’s second.
Dr James Gayley Townsend of the United States Public Health Service, conducting a major study at the University of Chicago, warns that influenza, which caused heavy losses in 1918, is due to reappear in the United States in 1928.
Jonathan H. Wagner known as Howard Wagner has been appointed head of the Seattle bureau of education for Alaska, assuming the role in September. He will oversee teaching services in Alaska and head the purchasing department supplying Alaska schools.
J P Homman of Ohio City Ohio encloses a renewal check for the RECORD and thanks the paper for its news. He reads the RECORD regularly and also mails copies to his brother Will Homman in Glenwood Minnesota who enjoys the hometown news.
Eli Bartholomaw of Spokane Washington arrived in Claypool for a visit with his mother Mrs Myron Pinney and other relatives and friends This is his first Hoosier state visit in nineteen years and highlights the changes in the surroundings since then.
The infant Valadore Paulus, daughter of Claire and Blanche Paulus, died November 1 1923 near their home three miles northwest of town after a brief illness. Born March 15 1923 she was 2 years 7 months and 18 days old. Funeral details follow on page four.
The First Quarterly meeting of the U B church of the Silver Lake charge convened in Claypool I Monday evening with several locals in attendance. The next quarterly gathering is scheduled for Center church in February.
William Bowles employed at Sid ne's store in Syracuse paid a 1350 fine in Simon Bell's court after pleading guilty to selling cigarettes to a minor last Thursday in Syracuse New York.
W. F. Walker visited the office briefly yesterday on his way from Lawrenceburg Tennessee where he worked in a printing office. He planned to proceed to Jackson Michigan to take a similar position.
Frank Kreis reports his brother George Kreis of Lyndhurst New Jersey is confined at home with a flu attack but is progressing well. George has a radio at home receiving concerts and addresses from New York New Jersey Newark and other places, helping pass time and ease loneliness while confined.
The Parent-Teachers Association will assemble in the high school building Thursday evening. Music will be provided by the newly organized high school orchestra of about forty pieces. The meeting marks the first since last spring, and all school patrons and interested residents are urged to attend for potentially important discussions.
