Samuel Hanson Dies at 74 in South Silver Lake Home

Samuel Hanson born December 9, 1827 in Pennsylvania died at his home in South Silver Lake on Monday November 3 after heart trouble. He moved from Oswego Indiana to Silver Lake in 1869. He leaves a wife two daughters a son four sisters three brothers and many friends. Funeral held at one o clock Wednesday November 5 at home with Rev J W Tillman officiating. Interment Lakeview Cemetery.

Notable family mourns loss after extended illness

The deceased, one of twelve children, joined the Methodist Church in Leesburg and later resided here. He married Elizabeth Daston Mores and had eight children, seven daughters and one son, with only two surviving. Surviving relatives include Mrs. G. A. Brash, Charles C. Uan, Mrs. E. Richard Stenefield, Mrs. Charles Tavier, and Mrs. Gertrude Hapner. A heartfelt thanks are extended to those who aided during the funeral amid heavy rain, especially Rev. Tillman and the choir.
