Sixteen members of the Victoria reading club traveled to Warsaw by car Thursday afternoon to attend an afternoon of music, recitations, and a lengthy one act drama hosted by the Valoma reading club at the Elder home. Mrs Cook gave the welcome and Mrs Sprigg replied for the Silver Lake club. A lawn dinner followed, with rooms decorated in club colors, and the visitors returned home with high praise for their hosts. Attending from the Victoria club were Mesdames Cline Jaques Myers Hayman Brown Summe Wittrout Leonore unk Burdge Pearson Hathaway Botts Sprigg Paulus and Davis.
A large crowd attended Decoration Day services at the U B church with Rev H W Park of the M E church delivering a speech. The Indiana State Guards ex soldiers and the Silver Lake Cornet Band led a cemetery procession and a military salute was fired at the graves of Andrew McClure and Walter A Rantz.
Everett Whittenberger son of Mr and Mrs Albert Whittenberger of near Yellow Creek Lake returned home Wednesday to stay with his parents. He has been attending mute school in the capital city and has been getting along excellently with his studies.

Mr and Mrs C C Hanson traveled to Fort Wayne to attend the funeral of Russell A Winters eldest son of Mrs Amanda E Winters He was born February 10 1878 in Sevastopol and died aged 34 years 3 months 14 days after a long illness He leaves a wife formerly Miss Emma Anderson Racine Wisconsin two sisters Fern Winters Fort Wayne and Mrs EB Boester Milwaukee Wisconsin two brothers Arthur Winters Chicago and Harry Winters Fort Wayne The funeral was at the family home 424 Clin Monday at 2 30 pm with burial at Linwood cemetery.
