Sunday School Convention Report From Lake Township

The Lutheran Church hosted a well attended Lake Township Sunday School convention last Sunday. Edwin Clink led the opening at 9 30 with reports from all township Sunday Schools showing averages and totals for attendance and collection. Officers were elected with Haillce Bryant as President and Will Wedrick as Vice President, among others.

Butcher Rings Set Operations Near Town This Summer

The Isaac Cripe butcher ring of 28 amillies south of town begins summer operations. Mr and Mrs George Brown handle the butchering. Ney plans to start butchering for the Landis ring on the first of June.

Auto Hits Pole In Narrow Four Mile South Whitley Crash

Five youths rode in a machine used for joy riding when it skidded on a corner four miles southeast of South Whitley. Frank Montel, driving about 35 mph, couldn't stop and crashed into a telephone pole. The pole broke six feet from the top, the car wedged against it and prevented a steep embankment roll. Montel was unconscious briefly. others suffered only slight bruises.
