Preaching at Two Churches This Sunday

Narrow Escape as Man Dragged Under Wagon

Arthur Getty fell from a manure wagon on his farm south of town. The wagon wheels passed over his lower limbs but no bones were broken and he recovered quickly, though he narrowly escaped serious injury.

Newt Herendeen's Fast Ride Ends in Minor Injuries

A near two speed crash near No7 school house left Newt Herendeen with facial cuts after his car skidded and toppled. His family escaped unhurt as doctors treated him and the machine was righted. Charles Olinger rushed to the scene to help and left with two cars to drive home.

Decoration at South Pleasant Church Memorial Day

Decoration will be observed this year as in former years at the South Pleasant church three miles south of town. The memorial address will be delivered by Rev. H. W. Park of the M. E. church on Thursday afternoon May 30 at 2 p.m. after which graves of the deceased soldiers will be decorated. Music for the occasion will be furnished by a choir from this place.

Grounded Fence Wires to Stop Lightning Damage

A historical note advises grounding fence wires to prevent lightning damage. Ground wires, made of ordinary fence wire, should connect with the fence and extend three feet into the ground. Grounds should be placed every one hundred feet of fence for complete protection.
