The town experiences a strong religious revival led by Rev. E. E. Wright at the M E church. Over four weeks about 75 conversions, 37 joining the church, with nightly and some daytime services. Prayer meetings at local businesses accompany the effort. Wright endures long hours but remains upbeat about the results.
John Carroll, age 45, was arrested Monday in Warsaw for robbing the Ripple home. After a preliminary hearing Wednesday he pleaded not guilty, then pled guilty in court Thursday when called by jury. Judge Roys sentenced him to Michigan City Prison for two to fourteen years, starting Friday.
Mrs Mary Hamman widow of the late George Hamman in the north part of town has been granted a pension of ten dollars per month by local authorities.
Assessors and deputies met in Warsaw with the County Assessor to receive supplies and instructions. They began interviewing taxpayers Saturday and have until May 15 to complete the work. Real estate valuations are expected to rise as values have increased over the past four years.
School program for a township teachers institute held in the school building on Saturday March 9 starting at 9 30 am. Fore noon items include roll call quotations from educators basis of practical teaching and chapters by Kern Correll Lukens Cutterbaugh and Martindale Brulah Recitation essays in application and plays by Miss Lukens. Afternoon features songs recitations and plays from various township schools along with tasks by citizens and patrons.
Mr Samuel Beber and Mrs Florence I Wilson were married Saturday March 2 at 6 pm in the home of Mr and Mrs John Rowland north of Silver Lake. Rev E E Wright officiated. Both well regarded in the community with many friends offering congratulations.
A 1907 letter from James E. Ferris to Roy Burdge reports on Jim Nathaniel Jijiti and his wife Gumba Chimubadzwa, youths trained at Umtali Academy Rhodesia. They now lead a native circuit teaching and preaching in eight villages, facing weather and travel hardships but reflecting a strong gospel awakening among local chiefs and converts.

Walter Homman has purchased the City Barber Shop from Bouse and Bowen and moved from Wabash to Silver Lake. He employs Harry Bouse to run operations as he learns the trade. A. H. Bowen contemplates a temporary move to Colorado with his wife. Local supporters wish Homman success.
Ray Ferree began work at the railroad office as student and helper to study telegraphy. The article notes a nationwide demand for telegraph operators and rising wages for competent workers.
Thomas Warren aged 26 and native of this county died in Indianapolis Wednesday evening after a brief illness. His remains were brought to Claypool Thursday and later interred at Fairview four miles southwest. He studied for the ministry and left a wife and two children. Warsaw Daily Times reports.
George Bailey of near Disko and Cleo Juntz of Akron were married in Rochester on February 28 by Rev. Landerman. The couple are highly esteemed and share a wide circle of friends. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs R N Juntz who recently moved from this place to Akron. The RECORD offers congratulations.
The Meat Market has relocated into the Rager room one door south of its former location. The move places it in updated quarters adjacent to its previous site.
A dwelling owned by William Fuller at Yellow Creek lake burned Friday night with nearly all contents destroyed. The family escaped in night clothes as a meat smoker caught fire, with a strong west wind fanning the flames. Fuller had no insurance and neighbors began a relief subscription for lumber, timber, and cash to rebuild.
Noble Clymer has accepted a position as telegraph operator in the Big Four office at Benton Harbor Michigan and began work last Friday. He had been with the Big Four office here for a year learning telegraphy and has shown capability in railroad office duties.

A. L. Lawshe of Converse Indiana is to be appointed Third Assistant Postmaster General, succeeding Edwin C Madden. Lawshe has served as auditor in Cuba and the Philippine islands and recently returned home seeking a domestic assignment. He is expected to take the post in April with a salary around 1500 dollars annually.
A nine week old infant of Mr and Mrs Harrison Perry was found dead in bed about three am Monday three and a half miles southwest of town. Coroner Kiplinger called for an inquest and Drs Cary and Amiss performed autopsy revealing a ruptured gall bladder likely causing immediate death. Funeral held at Bethel church on Wednesday.
The fifty ninth congress adjourned sine die at noon March 4 marking finality of its regular session. No further sessions planned until the new Congress convenes.
