Alma Nelson dies at 13 after Bright's disease
Alma Nelson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson died Sunday at her grandparents home after a brief illness from Bright's disease. Born January 20 1902 in Los Animas county she left a mother three sisters and a brother. Funeral conducted by Rev McCoy at the U B Church with burial in Silver Creek Bethel Cemetery. The family thanks neighbors friends the S S class minister and choir for support.

Akron Mill Burnt In Loss To Four Thousand
The Central Lumber Company mill at Akron southwest of here owned by J F Young and Son was totally destroyed by fire early Wednesday. The blaze caused the loss of several thousand dollars with only 500 dollars insured. Much lumber and a carload of railroad ties were burned along with the mill building. Some lumber was saved and railway telegraph and telephone poles along the Erie line were consumed, interrupting service for a time. A spur sidetrack of the Winona inter urban line connects with the yards but was undamaged. The fire’s origin remains uncertain.
