Funeral held in Palestine for Charles Thomas aged about 22 who died after a fall near a well in Willow Bush, Canada. He was found underwater with a fractured skull and multiple injuries. body brought to Beaver Dam for burial after recovery of remains.
Mrs. Jerstie Scott, described as Fort Wayne's largest resident and possibly Indiana's heaviest woman, died at home from multiple diseases. Born in Louisville, she had lived in Fort Wayne many years and had gained about 100 pounds in the last year. Embalming required eight times normal fluids and a wide casket to bury Mrs. Scott.
Rain from Saturday and Sunday soaked the ground to a considerable depth, providing incalculable benefit to farmers. The soil saturation promises relief for various crops across the region.
The Arca office equipment is now arranged and permanently installed in the Reconp building. Patrons and others are invited to call at the new quarters. Mrs Philip Leiter of near Packerton left home with Milton Fisher and their three children last week Tuesday. Traced to Warsaw then took a northbound interurban car. Leiter found his wife missing with about 15 dollars.
Rain last Sunday forced postponement of the opening day program at Myrtle Glenn park to July 4. A strong schedule of events and contests is planned for that day with a full program announced on large bills.
Clyde Leininger from Angala visited his old home Wednesday and shook hands with longtime friends. He had lived here with his parents for several years.

Silver Lake Lodge No 576 I O O F held memorial day with a procession by the Silver Lake Band twenty four children carrying flowers and flags. Rev H W Park preached at the Methodist church then the group went to the cemetery for ritual and grave decorations before returning to the hall for closing services.
H G Jantz and son Clarexice with E W Gresso Roy Hanes and Noah Frantz traveled to Detroit Sunday morning and returned Tuesday with two five passenger Huppmobiles bought there. Mr Frantz and Mr Gresso reported a good time and enjoyable trip.
Samuel Gill, who came here weeks ago due to his mother Mrs J E Gil’s illness north west of town, has returned to his home in Glasgow Montana.
Jacob Leckrone died after more than five years of poor health. His remains were brought from Edinville Missouri to Indiana on Friday and laid to rest at Rose Hill church cemetery after a funeral service Saturday morning. He is survived by his wife, several children, three sisters Mrs J M Amiss Mrs H G Groninger and Mrs Fred Horne and two brothers Solomon and Aaron. Aaron Leckrone accompanied the body and the procession returned home after meeting the casket.
A correction clarifies the Seward Horse Thief Detective Association picnic was misdated last week. The event is set for Sunday June 23, with members and families hopeful for a bright pleasant day.

Rev Parrott a former minister of this place spoke at the U B church last Sunday evening on America for Christ. He described thousands in western states without gospel access and children growing to adulthood without ever meeting a minister. He and Mrs Parrott work for the Home Missionary Society and have traveled much of the north west.

Mr and Mrs Percy Ring announce the birth of a nine pound boy born north west of here. The mother and baby are doing fine but it is uncertain how soon grandpa John D Cit will recover.
The Lake township Sunday School convention will be at the United Brethren church next Sunday, June 23. All from the city churches should attend Union Sunday School in the morning as the U B church bell will mark the time. All services will be at the Brethren church with preaching in the forenoon and evening by two strong speakers. The afternoon session is expected to draw a large crowd.
Mr and Mrs Harry Stiver of North Manchester are proud parents of a baby girl born at their home on Sunday. Mrs Stiver is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Ed Drudge of this place.
