Residents were shocked Friday morning by the sudden death of Mrs Ephriam Drudge at her home southwest of town about 10 30 the evening before. She had battled rheumatism and years of ill health, sometimes confined to her room, yet she was active Thursday evening before retiring. Mr Drudge and their daughter summoned help as Mrs Drudge rapidly declined and died before a physician could arrive.
Martha Drudge born January 6 1860 in Perry county Ohio died June 7 1917 at home near Silver Lake aged 56 years 5 months 1 day. Daughter of Levi and Mary Ann Helser moved with family to Wa bash county farm west of South Pleasant married Ephriam Drudge in 1877 producing Alburtus deceased Pressie Dridge and Lottie. Frank Smith arrived Tuesday from Piqua Ohio to visit his brother Samuel Smith and his wife plus the Pearson and Underhill households in town.
The 89th birthday anniversary of Henry D Ring of Claypool was celebrated on Tuesday June 12 with a surprise visit and a large dinner from his children Calvin and John Ringe of Cleveland William Ring and wife of Warsaw Ella Parker of Claypool and Ezra King and wife of Silver Lake.

Tom McGovern of Wabash underwent an appendectomy in a local hospital last Wednesday. His daughter, residing in Michigan, had a similar operation at Battle Creek hospital at about the same time. The father relapsed Tuesday afternoon and died around two o'clock. Remains transported via Big Four to Michigan for burial. McGovern was well known locally and visited the lake several times this spring.
Mrs Ephraim Drudge died suddenly prompting funeral services attended by her sister Mrs Frank Drudge of Sevastopol who was here for several days in the latter part of last week.
Mr and Mrs William Yates of Warsaw visited relatives from Saturday to Sunday evening. They came after the death of Mrs Yates sister Mrs Ephriam Drudge, and were here for the funeral.
Walter Sunday, who has spent several years in Iowa, arrived here late last week to visit his brother James Sunday and family.

A large crowd attended the funeral Sunday afternoon for Mrs Ephriam Drudge at South Pleasant. The Drudge family had lived in the north part of town for several years before returning to their farm in 1915.
