First Open Air Concert Highlights New Uniforms

A large crowd enjoyed an open air concert under new uniforms last week. Steve of Milford has organized trips for musical events and the Odd Fel community group hosted the event with railway and local support.

New Cement Walk Replaces Brick Path Near Market

A cement walk was laid this week at the meat market and Pearl restaurant replacing a brick walk that had become badly worn. The new path improves safety and accessibility for pedestrians in the area.

Mrs. D. Keller of St. Petersburg Florida sent a box of flowers to Mr. E. Wood to place on her child's grave buried in the local cemetery. Quite a number of local residents attended the republican county convention in Wicona on Tuesday. The ticket is listed elsewhere in this issue.

Obituary: Jacob Leffel Dies at 72 Near South Pleasant

Jacob Leffel died Saturday morning at his home four miles southeast of town after years of illness from a leg infection and gangrene. Born December 23 1841 he leaves a widow Laura Alice Strain two daughters Mrs J Newby Simmons and Miss Jessie Leffel and a son in law Essig. The funeral was Monday at the South Pleasant church conducted by Revs Titus Hit and J M Haines.
