Lightning damages house after Monday storm
During an early Monday electrical storm lightning struck a telephone wire near the Nate Way residence southwest of town. The current ran along the line into the house tearing siding from one side and breaking a window pane while smashing the telephone apparatus. Several family members were shocked but sustained no serious injuries.

Woman Dies After Stove Oil Explosion Near North Webster
Mrs. Longacre, living near North Webster, was severely burned Friday noon when coal oil ignited after she poured it into a stove. She died within hours. A neighbor rescued a small child from the burning house, which was afterward destroyed.
