Man Killed Heroically Grant Medal for Carson Speckien
It was announced that efforts will be made to secure a Carnegie medal for Paul Speckien the farm hand who lost his life at Servia while saving Mrs. Kate Curtis of Hammond. He jumped into the path of an express to aid her but both perished. Mrs. Curtis died on impact. Speckien suffered critical injuries and died hours later.
