The Methodist Episcopal Church announces preaching services every alternate Sunday at 1 30 a m. A prayer meeting is held Tuesday evening, with Sunday School at 9 30 a m Epworth League at 7 00 p m Devotional Meeting and all are welcomed Pastor J W Tinuman leads the church.
A Mexican war veteran and editor credits Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy with preventing a pension increase loss after contracting Mexican diarrhoea in 1847 48. He says the remedy cures diarrhoea quickly is pleasant and safe to take, urging continued use.
Washington dispatch notes record Christmastide joy at the White House with a noon luncheon and visits to Commander Cowles House. The Silver Lake Dramatic Company staged Topsy Turvy on Christmas night to a full house with strong performances and Laura Rantz Mandolin Club providing music. Managers Underhill and Roger earned praise for a high quality home company locally on tour.

On December 26 1901 at eight o clock at her home in Hast Silver Lake Mrs Melinda Kemper married Mr Abrahams Metzger in a quiet private ceremony conducted by Rev H L Greenawalt. The couple, well known in the community, received warm congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous life.

Joseph Aquilla Sands born July 18 1861 in Seward Township Kosciusko County Indiana died December 16 1901 aged 40 years 4 months and 28 days. He married Mary Elizabeth Hill March 15 1899 leaving a wife two children and surviving relatives. Funeral at Silver Lake U B church December 18 1901 conducted by E Tatman with local ministry. Remains interred in Silver Lake new cemetery.

A wedding was held at the bride’s parents home of Mr and Mrs Myron Landis near Disko on Monday evening December 23. The couple were W L Bryant of Chicago and Alva Landis of Disko. Music by Miss Edna and Master Ralph Wiltrout and others. Many presents were given. Guests included Mr and Mrs Wiltrout Mr and Mrs M M Rager of this place and Mr and Mrs J M Bloomer of Claypool.
