Mrs Harvey Meredith living west of town fell gravely ill Friday with a suspected bowel obstruction. An operation was planned for the forenoon at Fort Wayne hospital after ambulance transport from Claypool, but details were not learned by press time.
Warsaw druggist Kennedy was arrested Saturday evening on a charge of selling liquor illegally to Ed Sausage McKinst, who filed the affidavit.
Sheriff Kintzel accompanied John Scarfacs Charles Boggess and Richard Wogeman to Jeffersonville last Friday. Each party was sentenced for a term of from two to fourteen years.
Coroner Kelly called at the Record office after a visit to Silver Lake. The report notes there has been little need for his services in recent years, but he is frequently summoned to various parts of the county.
Simon Kissinger died at his daughter Mrs. E. E. Valentine residence in Clay County Monday evening at six after several months illness. He was past 77 years old, a plasterer by trade, and had worked in the trade over 30 years. He was well known in the area.
In Pennsylvania a man named Heckman, son in law to Mr and Mrs Moyer, plans to move with his family back to the Hoosier state to occupy their Indiana farm. Mr Wilcoxson has bought a farm near Columbia City.
Morice Lipley visited Henry Ring at his Claypool home last Saturday. Ring, 86, had been ill for weeks but is recovering well. He has been a constant Record reader for years and sent four dollars for renewal.
Last Friday morning Mrs. Mary Sigler suffered torn ligaments in her right hand and wrist when her shoe caught a nail near the barn causing a fall. She crawled to the house for help where a physician bandaged the wrist as sister Mrs. Rowalt and caretaker Miss Rodie Laughman assist the two women.
George Kramer aged about sixty, recently living at Ed Dickerboot place five miles south of town, died Wednesday morning after an attack of heart trouble while pumping water. He fell into a watering trough and died apparently instantly. Unmarried, he was a well known figure and uncle to Levi Rhodes who lives in the eastern part of town.
The honorable town trustees of Silver Lake will meet in regular session in the town clerk s office in the town hall tomorrow Friday evening February 20. It is not likely that there will be any business of great importance brought up.
A deal closed Thursday morning as George Huallen acquires the Miller property just north of town. Mr Hudwell paid $800 for the place.
Ice has been harvested in full this week and much is stored for summer use. No ice will be delivered to residents next summer, though several people have arranged with T. J. Alspaugh and McClure & Cline for ice during the hot months.
William Eaton, undergoing cancer treatment in Goshen, visited with his sister Mrs. William Wiley and family over Sunday. Family expresses hope for his full recovery after several months of treatment.
Ezra Beigh and his family, longtime residents on a southeast of town farm for several years, are moving this week to a new farm near South Whitley, ending their stay at the old locality.
Andrew Mattix residing five miles west of here suffered a paralytic stroke last Friday. The attack left him unable to hear speak or see.

Town residents hear plans for a stock company to build a large ice house on the lake for winter storage. The project aims to cut costs, supply ample ice to customers, and reduce labor by hauling directly from the lake to buyers.
Charles Smith will hold a public sale three and one half miles south of Silver Lake on Friday February 20. The sale lists 0.5 head of horses and 12 head of cattle. It will begin at eleven o'clock with usual terms.
Lewis Fisher of near Yellow Creek Lake drove into Silver Lake Tuesday midday with a horse attached to a buggy. The horse slipped, breaking a buggy shaft, then got free but soon collapsed and died, apparently from injuries suffered in the first fall.

Mrs Miller Heldena Homan born October 31 1838 departed February 6 1914 aged 75 years 2 months and 6 days. She married John M Miller March 8 1863 and two daughters were born to the union. Her husband passed away eight years ago.
