New Industry Would Boost Indiana Farm Wealth Through Beet Sugar
The article argues beet sugar factories could transform Indiana agriculture by rising land values and farm income. It cites Paulding Ohio as precedent, notes Michigan already hosts seventeen factories, and estimates fifteen to twenty five Indiana plants could generate about 15 million dollars annual sugar revenue and tens of millions in land value gains. It emphasizes domestic production benefits for consumers and producers and recalls 1911 sugar price stabilization following beet yields.
