After a Christmas program at the M E church, Mr I M Jaques was surprised at his home by church and Sunday school members. Alvin Bowen accompanied guests. Bowen lit the lantern and the gathering gifted Jaques an antique oak rocker in appreciation.
Mr Jaques, an earnest church and Sunday school worker, was re elected as superintendent of the Sunday school. He expressed gratitude for the token of remembrance and the pleasant time had by all visitors.
Mrs Betsy Yount an elderly, highly respected resident died at her home Wednesday December 26 aged about 79 years. She leaves many relatives and friends. The funeral was held at South Pleasant today with Rev C J Miner officiating and the remains laid to rest in South Pleasant cemetery.
