James Myers about 65 was found dead in his bed at his home one mile west of Claypool on Thursday morning by his son. He had been ill only a few days and had prior failing health. Mrs Myers, away in Illinois, arrived hours later after being summoned home. The body was prepared for burial and shipped to Illinois for interment.
Thursday afternoon the schools of Silver Lake and Lake Town ship closed for holiday vacation. A Christmas program entertained in several rooms after noon with Santa Claus as the main feature in the primary rooms. Schools remain closed until Monday January 4 1915.
Samual Clink endured a stroke while en route from near town to visit family in Stager Illinois. His wife and son coordinated care with doctors in Valparaiso and planned his return home as he showed gradual improvement. He is over 70 and expected to recover with medical care.
J J Babcock of War Saws visited the Hay home last Thursday. He and Mrs Babcock will leave early next week for Citronelle Alabama to spend the winter with Jud Babcock and his wife. Mr Babcock has written his brother that they would be there for New Year dinner.
