Swiharts offers wide holiday goods with large markdowns on muslins outings shoes and overcoats at half price across many items. The store invites customers to save money and give their trade.
A group of 37 residents from Seward township were ferried to the supervisors election amid heavy snow when driver Chet Herendeen lost control of a sled and toppled into a snowbank. No injuries occurred though one man mourned a lost pipe.
An accident is noted and to aid memory of who to avoid the article names the attendees of the party. The individuals named are S. A. Hoover, Abe Jontz, Jobert Jontz, Ross Stout, Frank Bolinger, Marion Drudge and Albert Martindale.
The Rev R L Hicks almanac touts beauty and value with astronomical engravings and full year weather forecasts. It lists 35 cents by mail and 30 cents on stands, with Word & Works monthly publication at $1 yearly plus an almanac per subscription. Agents wanted at 2201 Locust Street, St Louis.
The Lake township held elections last Saturday to appoint road supervisors in four districts. Each supervisor serves two years with a salary of $2 per day for up to 60 days if needed, improved from $1.50 per day for 30 days previously. District 1 Charles Kreiter. District 2 William Little. District 3 W. Hugh Bowen. District 4 Peter Leckrone.
A. H. Bowen and wife returned yesterday from St. Cullins Colorado where they went last spring intending to make that their future home. They came back and said they do not blame them and are always glad to see them.
The Claypool Lumber and Coal Company states it studies customer needs to supply coal that is nice, fresh, and snappy, stressing responsive service to coal buyers.
Walter Homman writes that he and his wife enjoy good health in Cardenas Mexico where he works as a locomotive fireman. He expects a faster rise to engine command and notes wages are over double those here with a delightful climate and a comfortable home. Homer Wells also works for the railroad as superintendent of locomotives nearby. The Sunday school plans a Christmas presentation next Sunday morning and urges full attendance.
There will be no special Christmas entertainment at the M. E. church this year breaking a four year custom due to the fact that those upon the occasion cannot participate.
No holiday entertainments at either church this season. Any greetings or presentations will be held during the regular Sunday school hour next Sunday.
Irvin Richardson of Pierceton fell suddenly ill aboard a Warsaw to Wabash line train last Friday afternoon. Passengers cared for him and he was unconscious on arrival at Wabash. A company physician was summoned and he was taken to his sister Mrs. Simpson’s home.
Indiana's 1907 hunter licenses have yielded more than 50 000 with Jan 1 projections near 60 000. Ninety two counties average about 500 licenses each though totals vary from 200 to 700 per county. In northern Indiana one county leads with about 1100 licenses issued to date. Revenue funds lake restocking and protection of stocked minnows from unlawful fishing.
