Town Marshal Frank Burt has completed essential improvements to the fire apparatus building at Silver Lake Indiana. A new floor keeps the engine high and dry and ready for use at a moment’s notice. He has also added sturdy sidewalks this summer and vows to replace more walks when spring arrives.
Charles B. Stevens of Burket and Olive Shoemaker of Mentone were joined in marriage last Saturday afternoon by Rev. G. W. Henry at the Christian church in Warsaw. The couple, well known locally, will soon reside near Burket and host friends in a few days. The Record extends congratulations.
The fourth joint institute of Clay and Lake townships met at Claypool on December 8, 1900. The program featured talks on Life's Ideals by H. F. Ruddudell, a paper by Ames Leffel, music by Ralph Wiltrout, and a recitation by Miss Hinkson. The session adjourned with plans to reconvene at Silver Lake on January 5, 1901, with Roy Rowland and Ayna Armey listed in the records.
