Four Language Advertising In Constantinople
Trade Commissioner Eliot G. Mears notes that advertising in Constantinople should use at least four languages to reach its cosmopolitan audience. Turkish newspapers yield strongest impact due to larger Turkish readership and higher ad receptivity among Turks, while tramcar ads are not used and street ads lack legal protection. Circulation figures: French 6,000–8,000. Greek 4,000–12,000. Armenian 4,000–8,000. Turkish 10,000–15,000.
