State Fair Jubilee celebrates Indiana's golden jubilee
The Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis plans a week long celebration starting September 15 for its fiftieth anniversary. The State Board of Agriculture notes growth from a crude start in 1852 to a 214 acre grounds with 15 departments. Sousa's Band will give four concerts to draw crowds while 260000 acres grow sugar beets and the fair expands from three days to a full week.
