Merchants discuss allowing summer band concerts. The organization has held open air shows and members have learned new pieces. They hope to stage concerts again this summer as people from miles around attend in past summers.
Indiana Millers' Association at Indianapolis plans to mark sacks of flour from state mills with the true weight in shipments and on the label. The measure, adopted by the board of managers, aims to ensure accurate weights and will be enforced by member mills under H. E. Barnard, the state food and drug commissioner, who has pushed for short-weight reforms.

Elizabeth H. Brown widow aged 88 died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at her northeast town home. Organic heart trouble listed as immediate cause. Born in Pennsylvania November 29 1821 she leaves two daughters Mrs Stephen Hill of South Bend and Mrs John Flora nearby and son William Brong of Allin Illinois. Funeral Friday with services at Silver Bethel church after meeting at noon.
A. C. Chandler and daughter Versa of Elkhart and W. J. Fitton and wife were guests of Bennie Drudge and wife Sunday. Chandler formerly lived in Silver Lake and is returning for the first time in seventeen years, and he enjoyed meeting many old friends.

Preston W Brown aged 68 died at his Leesburg home at four o'clock Wednesday after a stroke. A longtime resident, he married Mattie Bigelow and later moved to Leesburg. An old Civil War soldier, he belonged to the 4th Mid. Cay and helped in the capture of Jefferson Davis. He leaves a wife and one brother. funeral will be held Friday at two in the afternoon.

Amelia Grace Hower Lambert born November 14 1881 in Pleasant township Wabash County Indiana died April 13 1910 at home near Roann aged 28 years 5 months She was the daughter of A H and Nellie Hower and wife of William Lambert They left behind five children Fay Fawn Fern Gordon and Guilford her parents two brothers Henry and Charles and many relatives The obituary notes her cheery nature churchgoing faith and love for the Sunday school with a brief tribute to her character
