Albert Hartsough a farmer near Rose Hill died in a Indianapolis hospital Tuesday morning after bladder trouble and surgery. He was 52 and leaves a wife and two sons. The funeral was held Thursday at the brick church west of North Branchester with many relatives and friends in attendance.
A California minister asserts sauerkraut can extend life to a century. The idea faces skepticism as few would endure such a diet for years.
The Hawvenberk Wallace show opened its season in Peru today, featuring a winter-quarters display for the deceased. Yoig circus plans a large cost exhibit for the first time, with Lanis and Decatur stops including a Saturday appearance.
The eleventh annual commencement at Silver Lake High School is scheduled for next Wednesday evening at the U R Church. Rev Thomas H Kuhn of Indianapolis will deliver the class address noted as the orator and humorist in the program.

The community reports Rev. Buck delivered a fine sermon at the Methodist church last Sunday. The conference at Kokomo last week returned Rev. Buck to the Silver Lake circuit, and locals are glad he remains in this work.

Mr and Mrs Elias Hively move back to their country home just north of town after a year in Chicago. They will reside here and be welcomed as local residents. Mr and Mrs J B Marsh plan to stay in Chicago and run a rooming house there.
M. M. Metheny and wife traveled to Bourbon on Tuesday for the funeral of Enos Metheny, who died Sunday after a long illness from multiple diseases. He leaves a wife and five children. The funeral was conducted in Bourbon on Wednesday.
Ed Mills living northwest of town was confined to his home with a broken leg after an accident while helping raise telephone poles. He stepped into a low place as a pole fell, twisting his right leg near the ankle. A physician reduced the fracture and he is reported improving.
Mrs. Drucilla Regenos of South Whitley visited several days as a guest at the J. J. Leonard home and renewed her subscription at the office, saying the Record is like a letter from home and she cannot get along without it.
Claypool Lumber and Coal Co advertises the finest and largest stock of shingles in town, urging buyers to act fast as they are offered at low prices. Local customers urged to visit the yard to inspect the selection.
Clarence Hill suffered severe lacerations to the back of three fingers on his right hand when a timber piece split in a joining machine at the saw mill. He was feeding heading when the board split and pulled his hand into the revolving blades. Medical workers reported the injuries as painful but not life threatening.
The high school ends for the term on Friday marking the start of summer vacation. The school, noted for its high standards, was commissioned in the past term and is considered equal to any state high school.
He hiked to the Country Doctor J C Hay wife and daughter and Miss Bernice Maggert spent Sunday at the Martin Hay home east of town. Hay owns an automobile but they walked three miles in the country because roads are in terrible condition after work and recent rains have soaked them up.
