Mrs Nancy Smith Dies Pioneer of Kosciusko County

Mrs Nancy Smith 86 widow of the late Mary Smith died at the home of her stepson Johnathan Smith west of town after a long residence in Indiana. Born in Dark County Ohio she moved to Indiana as a child, married Isaac Ligget then Mark Smith and raised stepchildren. Funeral at Franklin Church west of town Tuesday with burial beside her husband. Rev W H Jattenhouse of Bourbon led services.

Brother of Levi Rhodes Suffers Stroke in Rural Home

Levi Rhodes learned Tuesday that his brother Jacob Rhodes suffered a stroke of paralysis at the Murry home near Kewannah and was in critical condition with death possible. A party from the local Odd Fellows Lodge went to Kewaona to visit, with Levi remaining by his brother’s side overnight before Jacob was moved to his niece’s home for care.

The first of a series of Sale and Market days planned in Silver Lake invites all residents and merchants to participate. The event aims to connect town and country businesses, allowing anyone to list and sell surplus stock and other items to the highest bidder via a hired auctioneer.

The largest Silver Lake high school class plans Friday program at United Brethren church with vocal and instrumental music recitations and talks by Superintendent J D L Cline and Professor Edward Cauffman. The annual North Indiana conference session concluded in Auburn with ministers assigned to several churches and circuits across the Wabash district. Fort Wayne won the bid to host the 1916 conference as multiple cities competed for the next session.
