Giant U S Armament Display at Pan American Exposition
Captain Peter C Harris leads the War Department exhibit showing the largest seacoast guns ever displayed by the United States. The 12 inch disappearing gun, 66 700 pounds, 30 76 feet, and a 10 inch breechloading rifle with 575 pound shell headline the collection alongside mortars, rapid fire guns, machine guns, and engineering models. Wireless telegraphy, signals gear, river and harbor models, and Mississippi River engineering displays complete the government showcase opening May 1 in Buffalo for a six month season.
