Hospitals Board Approves 1972 73 Budget Plan
The State Hospitals and Institutions Board approved a $13.5 million operating budget for 1972 73, up from the current year by about $14 million in total. It deferred a $650,000 capital outlay request and noted Medicaid driven funding shifts may affect the next year’s plan. Arthur E Day of Silver City was appointed Alcoholism Treatment Program Coordinator for Grant and Catron counties. Thomas D. Hill Jr., son of Mr and Mrs Thomas D Hull of Silver City, completed a four week ROTC field training encampment at Eglin AFB Florida. Cadets learned life on Air Force bases and explored potential officer career fields while undergoing survival training aircraft and aircrew indoctrination and visits to bases. Hill, a 1973 construction student at Texas A&M, returns to campus after the program.
