Turkeys in Minnesota Tested for Industrial Chemical Residues
Government inspectors are checking 50,000 Minnesota turkeys slaughtered for Thanksgiving to see how many contain residues of an industrial chemical also found in chickens this summer. The turkeys were impounded over six weeks at Swift Dairy & Poultry in Detroit Lakes Minnesota, a unit of Swift & Company. Dr Kenneth M McEnroe, head of Meat and Poultry Inspection, said the birds came from six or seven flocks raised by Peterson Bidding of Wadena Minnesota.
