Nixon At A Glance
WASHINGTON AP Here at a glance items discussed by President Nixon at his news conference Wednesday. Nixon will send to Congress Monday a new State of the Union style message urging action on inflation defense and energy. He warned oil producing Arab states that expropriation of US property without fair compensation and rising oil prices could push away markets. He noted confidence in Vice President Agnew despite investigations and declined to comment on them. He said IRS audited his 1971 and 1972 returns with no extra tax due. Inflation efforts aim to avoid recession with benefits anticipated in months. He would veto a minimum wage bill raising it from 1.40 to 2.20 in 1972 to prompt a broader reform bill.
