Tillie F. Tait dies after long illness at Hillcrest Hospital
Tillie F. Tait 8 died at Hillcrest Hospital after an extended illness. A Camden, Alabama native, she lived in Silver City 27 years and worked as a voucher clerk at Western New Mexico University. Survived by her husband William P. Tait of Silver City, a daughter Mae Crookshank of Dallas, two sisters Eola Bodiford and Jean Godbold of Camden, and a brother Tam Fairly of Montgomery. Funeral services set for 2 pm Saturday at Curtis Bright Chapel, with Rev. Alfred Pace officiating. Interment at Tait Family Cemetery in Coy, Alabama.

A Labor Day picnic is planned for Sunday at the Hanover Catholic Community Center. The event begins at noon with free meals, refreshments and entertainment. Grant County labor representative Pete Baldwin invites all, especially labor movement members, and a prominent speaker is expected to keynote.
