The Silver City Woman's Club held its October meeting welcoming new members Mrs Fisie Rach and Mrs Diarme Hamilton. Los Angeles AP reporting Burt Reynolds, 40, was hospitalized with chest pains over the weekend. A Cedars Sinai spokesman said doctors in the cardiac care unit could not determine the cause and Reynolds was sent home Sunday night.

Services Held For Pena In Deming
Daniel Bigeria Pena of Deming died at Mimbres Memorial Hospital on Oct 14 at 71. Services were held at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Hermoso officiating. Burial followed at San Jose Cemetery in Faywood. Survivors include his wife Adelina Silva Pena, one daughter, three sons, and 31 grandchildren. He was associated with Grant County before retiring from Kennecott Copper Corp in 1948.
