Beating Death Unsolved in Pima County Jail Case
The Pima County attorney released a 20 page report on the beating death of Paul Simon of Joliet Illinois an 18 year old University of Arizona student. Six jailers tested knew nothing of the beating until the body was found. One jailer showed a deceptive answer and will be retested with another ill jailer next week. Paul Simon cellmate William Crouch 20 was charged with murder but ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial. The report will be sent to the state attorney general for review.
