U S Air Force reconnaissance concentrates on the Laotian panhandle that feeds Viet Minh forces into South Viet Nam. Loss of two U S jets in the area signals stronger radar and anti aircraft defenses. Western New Mexico University ends classes Tuesday to start the Thanksgiving break. Classes resume Monday November 30. Administrative offices close Wednesday through Sunday. Miller Library hours during the vacation are 9 am to 3 pm Wednesday and Thursday 9 am to 3 pm, Friday 9 am to 12 pm, Saturday 7 am to 10 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 7 pm.
AP bulletin from Washington reports an American woman missionary, Phyllis Kine of Cincinnati, Ohio, was killed by Congolese rebels in Stanleyville. The State Department confirmed the death today and identified the victim.
The Grant County Treasurer's office received a 422674.97 check from Kennecott Copper Corp for the first half of state and county general properties for 1904. Treasurer Winifred Barrows notes the amount is lower than last year due to reduced school taxes in School District No. 2 and a lower county rate. The Cobre School District needed funds to meet internal bond payments and did not take the full district levy for operations.

Rudy Chapin of Central was fined $180 and costs by Justice of the Peace U S Canner for illegal possession of game out of season. Two companions were picked up at Mt Bayard by Frank Smith of the State Game Department who claimed a doctor was in the back of the car. The companions were not charged. Chapin will remain in jail until the fine is paid.
A blast struck a Kansas City area early today, injuring at least one person and causing a scene of panic. Authorities report an elderly man among those affected as investigators search for a cause. Detonation occurred in a residential district, drawing a heavy police and fire response.
Washington AP reports mountains of newly disclosed evidence pin the guilt of President Kennedy's assassination on Lee Harvey Oswald. The Warren Commission transcripts show witnesses offered only speculation and opinion, while hard evidence pointed to Oswald as the lone shooter. The accounts differ on some details, but the commission concluded Oswald acted alone.
