95 More Military Bases To Be Closed
Washington AP reports Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara announced 95 additional bases will be eliminated including some naval shipyards. The cuts will be phased over years, saving about 500 million dollars annually without degrading military capabilities. Air bases, army bases, and other facilities will also be affected, varying in size. This follows 574 previous base closures or reductions deemed surplus.
