Sharon Hunter 20, daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul L Hunter of Silver City, will represent the Silver City Grant County Chamber as Grant County Sun Princess at the El Paso Sun Carnival next month. A senior at Western New Mexico University she is a 1963 Silver High School graduate with activities including cheerleading, student council, drama, and clubs. She majors in physical education and holds leadership roles in campus groups. Escorts by Martin M Steffan Hot Springs High graduate now teaching Artesia High.

Support Gathers For Weighting Proposal In State Legislature
SANTA FE AP The special reapportionment committee of the New Mexico House of Representatives hoped to release a plan today and move it to the House floor Friday. A new compromise would give every county one representative while 12 counties hold fractional voting power. Four lawmakers and four sub groups study districting with 13 counties needing districts for a 12- or 79-member House. The plan envisions weighting where 12 counties elect reps with fractional votes. Neal says the weighting plan could be a stopgap until Supreme Court guidance in pending cases.

ARA Approves Loan For Local Brick Plant
The Area Redevelopment Administration approved an industrial loan of 481000 for Reese Mining and Manufacturing Co. to build a brick plant south of Silver City near the Santa Fe Railroad. The project employs 31 and should start within two weeks with production starting about six months later. The loan totals 312000 from ARA with the rest from Grant County Development Company Deming National Bank and Reese Mining and Manufacturing Co. This loan was endorsed by Sen. Clinton Anderson and Rep. Tom Morris in Washington and linked to a presidential directive.

Hoffa Seeks 250 Million In Truckers Benefits Plan
Teamsters president Hoffa seeks a three year nationwide master contract covering about 400000 workers in 16000 firms. The proposal, touted as a historic pact, calls for pay rises of 15 cents per hour yearly, $1 weekly for pensions and health care, plus fringe benefits including three paid days off, enhanced vacations, jury pay, two extra holidays and 10 cents an hour for dental. Negotiations to start in December in Chicago with a 50 member policy committee. The plan targets wage scales rising to 3.73 per hour over three years, expiring February 1 1967.

Eleven Rescued After Two Weeks In Iron Mine
Eleven men were rescued from a flooded iron mine in Broistedt Germany two weeks after being entombed. A drilling rig penetrated 183 feet to the gallery where they sheltered since October 24, with steel tubing reinforcing the shaft. One by one the miners emerged in a rescue capsule as Heimz Kull the first to surface amid silent crowds.
