Obituary of Lucy Seitzler of Silver City
Lucy Seitzler widow of A D Doc Seitzler died at Resthaven nursing home Saturday. She left two sisters Fannie Poindexter of Deming and Katheryn Moses of Silver City, a daughter-in-law Mel Eva Faust of Alma, and many nieces and nephews. Services set for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel with Rev Alfred Pace of First Methodist officiating. Interment in Manoniel Cemetery.

In Juarez Mexico protesters blocked downtown traffic for hours to oppose a Treasury Ministry ruling requiring payment of import taxes on U S made cars. The Citizens' Right Committee led by Jose Reyes Estrada organized the action and Treasury officials agreed to a Mexico City meeting next Wednesday.

FAA Probes Fatal Plane Crash Near Ramah New Mexico
The FAA continues the investigation into a private plane crash seven miles south of Ramah on the Navajo Reservation that killed four St. Louis residents, Mr and Mrs W R Benson and Mr and Mrs Walter F Murphy. The craft left Las Vegas at 11 20 p.m. bound for Amarillo and crashed at about 2 10 p.m. local time. Benson and his wife were thrown clear. she died at the scene, while the Murphys were pinned aboard. An FAA investigator said the plane appeared to be attempting to clear a ridge when it went down, with witnesses noting a fire prior to impact.

Thomas D Hill Jr of Silver City has been named a junior member of the Ross Volunteers, Texas A M University s elite honor corps. Hill is majoring in building construction and serves as cadet tech sergeant in 3rd Group A M Corps of Cadets. The Ross Volunteers, formed in 1897, is the oldest campus organization and acts as honor guard at official state events.

Albert Plans New Tactic For Desegregation Bill
Washington AP reports Speaker Carl Albert aims to push a 1.5 billion school desegregation package through the House with minimal debate and no amendments, using a fast track that requires a two thirds majority. The plan would bypass Northern liberals’ busing vote conflicts while raising political risks for civil rights and labor allies. The Emergency School Assistance Program would fund this year and next, mainly for desegregation, with busing spending barred by Nixon.
