A land parcel on the south side of Highway 180 east of the Pinos Altos turnoff was reclassified from residential to commercial after a Silver City Planning and Zoning Commission hearing. Owner Hubert Riebeau’s request for highway frontage commercial zoning was approved unanimously despite protests. The commission then reviewed a subdivision ordinance by Chambers and Campbell of Albuquerque as part of Silver City’s comprehensive plan.
