Western New Mexico University Music Dept Offers Summer Workshops
The Music Department at Western New Mexico University announces four workshops during the first summer session starting June 6. Elementary and Intermediate Guitar run June 13-17, led by Hector Garcia, with focus on K-12 music literature and chord accompaniment. Elementary and Advanced Conducting during June 27-July 1 cover new teaching methods and instrumental literature, with laboratories and video examples. Artist To Judge July Exhibit For Grant County Art Guild
Sharon Higgins of Albuquerque will judge the Grant County Art Guild July exhibit. Guild Chairman Howard Silvius says she is an outstanding realist known for oil and watercolor works. Higgins has shown regionally and nationally and lives in Albuquerque with her husband Terry and four teen boys.

UCM Chaplain Leaves Silver City for Carlsbad Role
The Rev. James G. Estes, longtime WNMU United Campus Ministry Chaplain, will end campus work in Silver City on June 30 and become Rector of Grace Church in Carlsbad on July 1. The Estes family plans to move May 31 with June for settling and a brief vacation. He will make his final UCM appearance this Sunday at 10:00 A.M. at the Episcopal Church.

Dr. Dave Brazell of Grand Canyon College will conduct two officiating workshops. he serves as Arizona Junior Colleges commissioner and officiates in NCAA NASIA football and basketball.
