The Beaverhead District Ranger announces logging resumes in the Beaverhead area as of May 2. Logging trucks may use State Highways 2 and 59 during daylight hours and possibly weekends. State Highway 59 is under repair with single lane traffic and numerous potholes.

Junior Women Club Members Attend GFWC Convention
New Mexico's 65th annual GFWC convention opened April 28 in Farmington at the Inn. Grant County Junior Women’s Club members attended, including Carolyn Quinn, Xandy Church, Linda Pecotte, and Virginia Moore. Speakers included Mrs. Arnold Otis and Mrs. Oscar Sowards. Highlights featured a tour of B Square Ranch and Experimental Farm and a concert by Affiliate Artists, Inc.
