Senate investigators will hold hearings May 29 to examine alleged pressure on the National Transportation Safety Board by the White House and transportation agencies. Chairman Magnuson said John Reed reported White House displeasure with some FAA and DOT criticisms and warned board members of possible discipline if reports were not softened. Reed and other board members avoided comment as lawmakers seek minutes, letters, and memos from the March 18 meeting.
