Moscow reports former U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union W Averell Harriman will head the U S delegation to ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of the end of World War II. Tucumcari Arts Fair schedules second annual show
The second annual Arts and Crafts Fair in Tucumcari set for June 6 and 7, sponsored by CRAFT. Entries arrive from California, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico, with items for sale and demonstrations in weaving, machine work, pottery and jewelry. The event runs at the Tucumcari Recreation Center and Four Season Mall with a shuttle between venues. The following day features steer roping and barrel racing all day at the dunes.

Graveside services were held Tuesday for Robert H. Wilson six who died Friday at Fr Bayard Medical Center after a long illness. Native of Leonard Texas he lived in the Silver City area ten years. Interment at Memory Lane Cemetery with Pastor F J Wallace of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church officiating. Survived by nephew Jack W Harris of Plano Texas.
Bayard Methodist Church Dedication Announced
Bayard United Methodist Church plans a special dedication service Wednesday evening to mark the paid off mortgage and celebrate the church and parsonage. The event includes a dinner at 6 p.m. and a sanctuary service with choir numbers. Attendees include Bishop Alfie Carleton Paso District Superintendent and former Bayard ministers.
