Utah Repertory Dance brings concert to WNMU March 29

The Utah Repertory Dance Theatre sponsored by the Western Dance Commission presents a March 29 program at Western New Mexico University Fine Arts Auditorium. The program features Triplet choreographed by Elon Bromberg with performers R McAllister Burrows Kay Clark and Ron Rubey. Choreographer Ellen Bromberg, from Tucson, has works in the company repertory and just received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. The evening includes The Band of the Black Watch set to music, plus Spotlight and My Brother's Keeper based on Steinbeck. Curtains at 8 pm. advance tickets available through the WNMU Student Activities office.

Cobre High School releases all honor roll lists for the fourth six weeks with 115 students named. Municipal Bonds Phased Out By Investment Council

The New Mexico Investment Council will phase out county and municipal bonds from the permanent fund. By February the state held 24,500 in such bonds, set to mature next year, a fraction of the 53.5 million in early 1959 when the council began.

St. Marys Summer School Announced

St Marys announces a five week summer program from June to July with morning classes Monday through Friday. Courses include basic reading phonics spelling and mathematics for various grades plus enrichment offerings such as Scripture Studies reading creative writing Spanish physical culture macrame and cake decorating. Welfare reform hearing draws New Mexico public views

A Santa Fe panel heard New Mexicans critique federal and state welfare programs during a public input session on proposed reforms. Participants included HEW officials and state administrators. A welfare recipient described monthly expenses and gaps in aid, urging free daycare and baby item exchanges.
