Fortuna Accepts Conditional License To Run Ruidoso Downs
Fortuna Properties Inc accepted a state Racing Commission offer of a conditional license to operate Ruidoso Downs and Sunland Park tracks. The license binds Fortuna to accept a trustee if owners Dominic and Anthony Alessio are deemed unfit, with a court challenge possible if Fortuna disagrees with any trustee appointment. The move aims to avert immediate track closure as hearings proceed on permanent authorization.
