New Mexico College Scholarships Essay Contest Planned

The state will offer tuition scholarships at state universities through an essay contest on New Mexico history. Calvin Horn of UNM Mexico Board of Regents leads sponsors Gov. Apodaca and ex-Supt. DeLayo. Deadline June 1.

Tyrone OES Hosts Grand Officers for Bicentennial Event

Tyrone Chapter No 41 welcomed Eastern Star grand officers for a statewide observance in New Mexico. Mary Ellen Johnson and J Wilburn Miller presided with gifts to Grand Chapter projects including the Johnson Miller Scholarship fund. Donations supported ESTARL and benevolent funds aiding members with care needs and emergencies across the state and beyond, as 140 members attended from New Mexico and Arizona.
