Domenici Outlines Criteria For Post Office Closures

Senator Domenici outlines a Senate amendment to the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970 setting criteria for closing third and fourth class post offices. The measure, co sponsored by Domenici, would require the postmaster general to weigh proximity to other offices, number of served families, available alternatives, energy costs, and overall local impact before deciding closures. John Donnell Seeks New Mexico Supreme Court Seat

John D. Donnell, veteran lawyer and former Marine, seeks the Republican nomination for New Mexico Supreme Court Position 1. Born 1925 in Santa Fe, he served in World War II, practiced law since 1951, co founded Zinn and Donnell, and holds deep state ties. He ran for state attorney general in 1966 and 1974 but withdrew in 1974 due to a partner’s heart attack.

University names DeAnne Smith Mustang of the Week

Senior math major DeAnne Smith of Albuquerque has been named Mustang of the Week at Western New Mexico University. active in girls volleyball basketball and softball in high school she joined Cardinal Key and other clubs, earned high honors repeatedly, and plans to teach math or chemistry after student teaching in Silver City.
