All Western Art Show Planned for Silver City Area
Sabra Humphrey and Carroll Niblett of Silver City join Mel Bradshaw of Holbrook and Dean Pettinger of Bowie Arizona for an all western art show at the Silver City Women's Club during the Fourth of July opening. The exhibit runs Sunday July 3 from noon to 1 PM and Monday July 4 from 9 AM to 7 PM, featuring paintings of cowboys Indians and scenes of the Southwest.

University of Houston Texas Tech win solar grant
A joint 644100 grant for solar energy research was awarded to the University of Houston and Texas Tech University. The Energy Research and Development Administration announced the grant, naming the Energy Foundation of Texas consortium to study collecting storing and transmitting solar energy. The project includes perfecting the Solar Energy Laboratory tower and a ground mirror array that tracks the sun and reflects light to a central collector.

Mary L Fisher 84 died Monday night at Resthaven Nursing Home after an extended illness. A native of Arizona she lived in Silver City seven years and is survived by daughter Martha Allison and sons Henry Lerma and Ernest Fisher plus 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also survived by sister Enriqueta Lerma and brothers Charlie Pete Agape Lerma. Rosary Friday 7:30 p.m. Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass Saturday 10:00 a.m. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment Catholic Cemetery with Monsignor Milano officiating. Pallbearers listed.

Town And Country Club to Display Flowers on July Fourth
The Town and Country Club Garden Club plans a non competitive Flower Display during the Open House at Silver City Museum on July 4. Grant County Commissioners will meet in Silver City for a regular session July 1977 at 1 30 PM with topics including Hooker Addition Road, ambulance contract, Humane Society contract, airport board appointment, and delinquent licenses. Citizens are invited to participate by bringing fresh or dried arrangements, house plants, terrariums, and related items before 9 AM.
