Trial opened today in the Sixth Judicial District Court for Richard Franks of Silver City. Franks faces embezzlement charges from a Grand Jury indictment while employed at Fort Bayard Hospital. Judge Normen Hodges presides without a jury. defense is J Wayne Woodbury with Patricio Sanches handling the state.
John Trevarrow, 93, died at Rest Haven Nursing Home after an extended illness. A native of Houghton Michigan, he lived in the area 88 years and managed Tremarro Mercantile in Turnerville until 1968. Survivors include a daughter in Alaska, a son in New Braunfels, a sister in Phoenix, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services are pending at Curtis-Bright Funeral Home.
