District Court Judge Norman Hodges will draw 18 names from the jury box to select 12 grand jurors for Grant County. The public drawing at 4 p.m. determines which 12, who will hear evidence and decide if a serious crime is indicted, with impanelment set for August.

Egypt and Israel warned each other with Cairo informing Bull that any Israeli moves to move bans would trigger immediate fire. Dayan threatened a blockade if Egypt does not lift its ban on canal use. Five Italian Arab summit talks in Cairo urged effective steps to erase aggression and forge Arab unity. The UN General Assembly session in New York marked its month of meetings as the Soviet Union pressed for withdrawal of Israeli troops.
